When I first came to the BVI for a weekend, I had no idea what to expect. What I saw was a very quiet island with exquisite beaches and it was difficult to imagine living and working here.
Fortunately, I met Phil Graham in a marina and it didn’t take much for him to convince me that, with a background acting for private equity investors, I would get as much enjoyment and be equally challenged here, working with investment funds and their managers. Moreover, being able to do that from the BVI certainly had its attractions. It has proved to be the most incredible place to raise small children who spend most of their time on the beach, swimming, sailing and climbing trees.
I have worked with clients from all over the world launching, operating, restructuring and winding down hedge funds and private equity funds. I also advise on regulatory issues for clients engaging in investment business. I work with the BVI Government to ensure that the BVI continues to offer the right products and services. The job brings something new every day.
On the rare occasions that, between work and my kids, I get time to myself, I try to find some calm on the yoga mat.
